Interfaith Week runs from 13 - 20 November. The Worcestershire Interfaith Forum will be planning events during the week.
Worcestershire Interfaith Forum represents the interests and values of faith communities. They believe in working together and building friendships between people of whatever faith tradition, or if they have no faith.
Earlier this year, the Revd Catherine Lack was elected as chair of the group. She said: “The work of the forum is all about education, not conversion. In today’s world, it’s so important as we all work with people of different faiths, as well as those without faith. Even if we don’t all believe the same thing, we can and must work together to improve our society.”
Worcestershire Interfaith Forum runs events and Catherine has led a series of ‘Scriptural Reasoning’ meetings in which members of different faiths look at pieces of scripture and discuss the similarities and differences between them. The group is also keen to offer training
on religious diversity to businesses and others, raising awareness of different faiths and encouraging people to talk to those with different beliefs.
“I am also very willing to visit parishes to preach around this theme or to facilitate small discussion groups. All religions preach peace and the more we respect and understand each other, the better our world will be,” said Catherine.
