The Healthier Churches Fund was created using money which has been freed up from investments alongside some Lowest Income Communities funding from the National Church. Parishes can apply for funding for projects to help make a difference in reaching out in their community and bring more people to faith.

New resource to help churches help refugees

A new resource to help churches across give support and aid to refugees has been launched, which was co-created by the Vicar of Lye, Glen Ruffle in his previous role as Assistant Permanent Representative of the Anglican Communion to the United Nations.

Maternity Bereavement Chaplain in Dudley

Kim Topham, Associate Priest in Hagley and Clent has recently taken on the role of Maternity Bereavement Chaplain at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, as well as being one of their bank chaplains. She supports families who have lost a baby as well as supporting the maternity staff themselves.

Worshipping outside during Holy Week and Easter

Members of both St Matthew's and St Nicholas, Warndon have been clearing the derelict former site of St Matthew's church, which was demolished in 2015. Over Holy Week and Easter, the churches held some short outdoor acts of worship on the site.

Easter Eve confirmations at the Cathedral

New Stations of the Cross in Malvern Link with Cowleigh

In preparation for Easter, students from the Art Club at Dyson Perrins CofE High School took time to paint a new set of the Stations of the Cross, which have been presented to the parish.

Chrism Eucharist 2026

On the Monday of Holy Week, many of our clergy and lay ministers gathered in the Cathedral for the Chrism Eucharist. This service includes a rededication of all those in ministry to their calling and the blessing of the oils that are used in services throughout the year.

New Parish Accessibility Fund

A new fund has been launched by the Church of England to support parishes with projects and building improvements that will support those who are deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent.

A special Easter service

A special Easter service for adults with learning difficulties and other special needs was held at St Egwin’s Church, Evesham earlier this week.  Led by Associate Priest, Caroline Green, it told the story of Easter from the entry to Jerusalem to the appearance to the disciples after resurrection.

Bishop Hugh opens new school playground

Bishop Hugh visited Cutnall Green CE Primary School on Tuesday where he opened a new playground for the children.  During a short ceremony, which included prayers from the children, Bishop Hugh cut the ribbon on the equipment with the help of two pupils.

Easter blessings in Redditch town centre

Churches across Redditch are working together offer Easter blessings to families in the town.  From 26 – 28 March, they will be taking over a shop front in the Kingfisher shopping centre to run crafts and games, gifting families Easter eggs and age-appropriate bibles.
