Franciscan Peace Pilgrimage

2026 is 800 years since the death of St Francis. To mark this anniversary, Franciscans are planning a pilgrimage which will begin in Almouth and finish in London, visiting all the Franciscan houses - it will come through our diocese in August and they'd love people to join them!

Criminal Justice prayers May 2026

Our diocese hosts a group whose focus is criminal justice. The group offers a faith perspective on criminal justice matters and raises awareness of the issues. CJAG offers this bi-monthly prayer guide which we hope will be useful for personal and intercessory prayer in local parishes. May's prayers focus on those serving an indeterminate sentence.

Stuart Currie to retire

Bishop’s Chaplain, Stuart Currie will be retiring from his role at the end of August. Stuart joined our diocese in 1994 as Vicar of St Stephen’s Church in Worcester and for the past ten years has been Bishop’s Chaplain to both Bishop John and Bishop Hugh.

Community garden at Families@4 in Ipsley

Families@4 is a new worshipping community at St Peter’s Church in Ipsley. Throughout 2026, they decided to theme their programme around learning about God’s creation and have created a garden in which the children and their families are growing vegetables and flowers.

Appeal for donations to provide ‘Bags of Hope’ this summer

Churches from across the Redditch Mission Area are planning to make use of a unit at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre this summer, launching a new initiative called ‘Bags of Hope’ to support families across Redditch and show Christ’s love - but they need donations to get this off the ground!
