The Bishop’s Certificate course, exploring the bible and theology, will start again this autumn in both Dudley and Worcester areas of the diocese.
Rector of the Brierley Hill Team and Area Dean of Greater Dudley, David Hoskin, has adapted the liturgy used at the launch of ‘Praying for Growth’, turning it into a short service of the word which he has used at Christ Church, Quarry Bank.
Bishop Martin has been doing a pilgrimage around the Diocese this week, ‘praying for growth’ in each of our deaneries.
On 12 July, the deanery of Pershore & Evesham held a Celebration of Ministries Service at St Peter's, Bengeworth.
On Wednesday afternoon we gathered at Worcester Cathedral to launch a dedicated period of prayer that churches in our diocese will grow both spiritually and numerically over the coming years.

The archbishops and others are presently encouraging people to attend acts of worship in their imagination, and online. People are asked to pray at home, but with others who are praying elsewhere. This includes virtual Holy Communion – and many people have used the traditional language of “spiritual communion†without explaining it. Doug Chaplin offers a short explanation, with some prayers that you can use.
