Bishop Martin's 'Praying for Growth' pilgrimage

Published: 2nd August 2023

Bishop Martin in St Andrew's Church in DroitwichBishop Martin has been doing a pilgrimage around the Diocese this week, ‘praying for growth’ in each of our deaneries.

He visited Kidderminster and Stourport and Greater Dudley deaneries on Monday and Tuesday and today he was in Worcester Deanery where he led a communion service at St Andrew's Church in Droitwich and prayers at St Clement's Church in Worcester.Praying at the altar in st clement's church in Worcester

Bishop Martin has been using the ‘Praying for Growth’ resources as the basis of his pilgrimage, praying for our growth as Kingdom People, growing in love, compassion, justice and freedom and praying for the growth of our church communities in depth and in number, as we seek to worship God, make new disciples, share hope and join with others to transform our communities for good and for God. Bishop Martin with a group of people praying outside the door of St Clement's Church in Worcester

Each service has been special with Bishop Martin leading the congregation around the church in song and in prayer. People have also been anointed with oil as we have asked for the grace of the Holy Spirit to equip them for mission and ministry.

He has also enjoyed plenty of tea and cake!Congregation of St Andrew's Church Droitwich listening to Bishop Martin
