St Bartholomew’s Church in Tardebigge held its first ever Tardefest on Saturday 14 September with a wide variety of music, food and other activities hosted in and around the church grounds.
Debra Hill has been recruited as Children and Families Worker for the Worcester Southeast Team and St. Barnabas. Debra has lots of ideas and is very keen to get going. She hopes to see children’s ministry flourish at all the churches.
The West Midlands Regional Racial Justice Service of Welcome will be held at Coventry Cathedral on Sunday 6 October, from 4 - 5.30 pm.
To start the school term, the Church of the Ascension in Wall Heath held their annual bag blessing service.
Fraser Oates was licensed as Renewal Leader at St Stephen’s Church in Redditch on Sunday as the church moves forward with its vision to grow into a thriving church at the heart of the town centre.
Stephen Edwards was officially Installed as Dean at the Cathedral on Sunday 15 September.
James Williams is to become Curate in Charge in the Benefice of Malvern Link with Cowleigh. He will become Priest in Charge once his curacy ends.
Rob Little was licensed as a new Lay Minister at St John in Bedwardine in Worcester yesterday. The service was conducted in his home church by Bishop Alan Winton, former Bishop of Thetford in the Diocese of Norwich who is now an Honorary Assistant Bishop in our diocese.
Christ Church in Coseley, in the far north of the Diocese, has recently installed two bee hives in their churchyard, which they hope will help them engage with the local community as well as provide them with honey which can be sold to raise funds for the church!
Top Church (St Thomas & St Luke’s Church) held a heritage Open Day on Saturday 7th September to showcase their innovative Digital Tour which aims to share the history of the church and the role it has played in supporting the residents of Dudley.
On the 11 September, Worcester Deanery put on their first “No Limits” prayer event. Churches and members of the diocesan team came together to offer an evening of worship and prayer.

Three times per year, St Laurence Church holds 'Ark lunches' for the community. Over 60 people attended the most recent Spring Lunch paying a small charge. The success of these events mean the team will be able to offer Christmas dinner for free to the community!
‘Experience Dudley’ is a faith, community and heritage project that started as a pilot at Top Church in 2022, partnering with one local school. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this year staff have been able to expand it to partner with three local schools, reaching close to 1000 children.
