The Great Invitation

Published: 27th October 2022

Could you be part of our Christmas video?

To tie in with the national Christmas campaign: Follow the Star - The Great Invitation, we’d love to encourage churches to share the joy of gathering together to celebrate the birth of Jesus with their family, friends and neighbours - especially after two years where this has been impossible for many.

We would like to produce a video featuring people from all over the diocese inviting people to church this Christmas.

Could you film yourself telling us:

  • What makes Christmas special in your church?
  • What do you look most forward to in church at Advent and Christmas?
  • Why should people come to church this Christmas?

You don't need to answer all three questions seperatley, but this gives an idea of the sorts of things we want the video to cover!

The shorter the better – we’d like to include as many people as possible in a short 2-3 minute video, so the shorter the better and don’t be offended if we have to edit you!

Filming requirements

  • No fancy camera or audio equipment required, you can use a smart phone or webcam.
  • Film in landscape in at least HD 1080p.
  • Find somewhere light and quiet to ensure good audio quality and don't stand too far away from the camera / microphone.
  • Send your videos to James Atkinson
  • Deadline: Monday 12 December 2022

Do get in touch if you have any queries or issues.
