Remembering the Queen at Suckley Church

Display remembering the Queen in Suckley churchSuckley Church held their annual BFG Fest (Beer, Food and Gifts Festival) last Saturday - and it became a welcome natural opportunity to bring people together when we all needed each other.

The Festival was officially opened by Major General (Ret’d) Mark Armstrong (Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire) who led a tribute to our late Queen, followed by a one minute silence. The attendees then sang, many with tears in their eyes, the National Anthem to our new King. Those present were then introduced to Worcestershire’s High Sheriff, Andrew Manning-Cox, who came to the BFG to express his own sorrow at the passing of the Queen followed by the presentation of two High Sheriff Pins of Merit to the Chair of the BFG (Catherine Armstrong) and the Deputy Chair (Catherine Owen) for their BFG Team lead, and their commitment.

Hundreds of people came to the festival and all had the opportunity to stop and reflect together. Many signed the Book of Condolences. The books ‘Our Faithful Queen’ and ‘’The Servant Queen and the King she serves’ were available to appreciate. People wanting their own copies were invited to donate towards dedicating a chair commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Throughout the festival, a big smart TV screen played a continuous loop of collected spiritual messages from the Queen who shared her faith so often in her Christmas broadcasts.
