Three additional stipendiary curates will be able to be recruited for 2026 thanks to new funding from the national church.
The Diocesan Investment Programme (DIP) Fund has awarded a grant for these curacies which will sit alongside three diocesan-funded posts and help us to grow more pioneering leaders.
The three curacies will be located in one of our Resourcing Churches – All Saints in Worcester – as well as two of our renewal projects – St Peter in Bengeworth, Evesham and Kingswinford & Wall Heath. They will help us to increase leadership capacity across the different theological perspectives in our renewal churches and will enable those churches to resource and support other churches in their local area.
Diocesan Leader for Transformation and Change, Archdeacon Nikki Groarke, said:
“We are delighted to receive this funding for additional curates which will support the ongoing renewal and growth of the Church across the Diocese. We are all aware of the current shortage of clergy and training more curates enables us to develop church leaders across the breadth of traditions in our diocese who have the skills to grow the Church and contribute to the wider diocesan vision of Kingdom People – building flourishing communities where every individual and household can realise their God-given potential.”
