Calling musicians in ministry

Do you come from a professional music background?

A note from John Fitzmaurice, Director of Ordinands and Vocation:

A small group of us who come from professional music backgrounds have, over the past few years, pondered why so many of us from that background have been drawn into ministry.

More recently we have wondered if there might be others we don’t know about who fit this profile. So, we are exploring the possibility of convening a group of people who were or are professional or semi-professional musicians, or who at least have a third level qualification in music, and who now find themselves in ministry of some sort.

We may in the future open it out to people for whom music has been/is a significant part of their journey, but for the moment want to keep a relatively tight focus on those of us who have done music (semi-)professionally and/or have studied music either at music college or university.

The purpose of the group is simply to explore the overlap between life in music and life in ministry. If you fit this profile and would like to be part of the conversation (it might involve beer!), please register your interest with John Fitzmaurice jfitzmaurice@cofe-worcester.org.uk
