The Parish Giving Scheme - one year on

Published: 3rd December 2019

January is a difficult time of year for many people, who suffer from financial hardship following the Christmas season. We pray that people are met in their need, and for the resolution of hope in the New Year.

It's also a time when parishes might be looking at their finances. Over the last year, we have received an encouraging response from churches and donors who have registered for the Parish Giving Scheme. This scheme can be easily used by anyone with access to the internet and will encourage generosity, efficiency and regularity in giving. It is very simple, working on a direct-debit system, which helps donors to know theirmoney is being used well and enables PCCs to budget confidently.

Bishop John said: "I wholeheartedly commend the Parish Giving Scheme to every parish and to every individual."

A Quick Response (QR) code is now also available, enabling people to give immediately using their smartphones.
