Church Buildings

Welcome to the section of the website that covers the care and management of our church buildings.

There are nearly 300 church buildings in the Diocese of Worcester tracing 1000 years of worship. Each has a special part to play in its community and many are key architectural features of the built environment.

Churches are cared for by their parishes; most of the people involved in their care are volunteers.

The Diocese’s Church Buildings Team seeks to support parishes in caring for buildings and can offer advice and assistance on a wide range of topics. They also operate the systems of permission to make changes to churches, known as Faculty Jurisdiction.

If you can’t find the guidance that you are looking for on the site then email the team on churches@cofe-worcester.org.uk, call a team member using the contact numbers on the Church Buildings Team page or call 01905 732809.
