Churchyards Workshop 2024

Where clergy and parishes have churchyards (especially open, but also closed ones), they have pastoral opportunity and also a site for many potential problems. They can be experienced as a significant burden, as well as a means of enriching community engagement.

This workshop, which will include conversation with both the Archdeacon of Worcester and the Church Buildings Officer, offers an opportunity to meet and share with colleagues. What have you found helpful in dealing with difficult disputes? Where are you most aware of the need for support, and what sort of support would help? Where have you found opportunities in bringing the community together around the churchyard, whether for conservation and environmental projects, for educational opportunities, or simply as working parties and teams from the community generating a sense of ownership or belonging?

A sandwich lunch will be provided as part of the workshop, so please indicate your dietary requirements when signing up.
