Faith in a time of Climate Crisis - Christian Eco-Spirituality

Speaker: Rev’d Dr Robin Parry

Robin is the author of the recently published book Christian Eco-Spirituality. Bishop Graham Usher describes this book as “A tour de force of the landscape of Christian eco-spirituality.” In this session, Robin will talk about some of the key issues he explores in his book. He says that what Christianity has to offer is a distinctive spirituality, one that provides a rich rationale for creation care, principles to guide it, and the resources to empower, equip, and form people to walk the pathway with resilience. He argues for a slow spirituality, one that helps us reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world as we learn what it means to inhabit creation as creatures, living alongside other creatures, with faces turned towards our Creator.

Robin Parry is also Minor Canon for Eco-Spirituality at Worcester Cathedral, and the author of a number of books on the Bible and theology.
