DBE: New to Teaching in a Church of England School Welcome

This one-day course is suitable for teachers, at any stage of their career, who are new to teaching in a Church of England School. Church schools have a very distinctively Christian feel, ethos and culture, which are rooted in a theological vision. On this course will we cover:

• the history of church schools
• church schools in the Diocese of Worcester
• categories of a church school
• an overview of being a church school from a SIAMS perspective
• the Diocesan Education Team and services provided
• understanding the importance of vision
• governance of church schools.

Through this, you will have a better understanding of the distinctive nature of church schools, and the expectations on staff.
