DBE: Newly Appointed Headteachers Welcome & Induction Day 1

This two-day course welcomes new headteachers into our family of church schools and provides opportunities for personal and professional networking, whilst covering the following topics over
the two days:

• the history of church schools
• church schools in The Diocese of Worcester
• categories of a church school
• overview of being a church school from a SIAMS perspective
• the Diocesan Education Team and services provided
• the role of the Diocesan Board of Education
• new headteacher mentoring
• leadership: forming and sharing the school vision
• vision into values: making your church school distinctive
• understanding relationships of key partnerships
• governance of church schools including being an Ex-officio
• sustainability of church schools
• church school land and buildings
• sustainable school structures
• compliance.

We conclude day two with a Commissioning Service, welcoming headteachers to our church school family. You are welcome to invite a family guest to this service and also to extend the invitation to your chair of governors.
