Visiting the Library

The library room is often in use for meetings and conversations. Currently we are trying to keep the room open as a browsing and borrowing library on these days, and between these times:

  • Mondays 12.30 – 1.30
  • Tuesdays 9.00 – 1.30 (normally staffed)
  • Thursdays 12.30 – 1.30
  • Fridays 9.00 – 4.30

To be on the safe side, we advise you to ring our Reception team (01905 20537) before making a special trip, to check it will be open as advertised.

When a volunteer is not present, the Library is run by "self service". Full details for borrowing books is given in the Library. If you are not yet a library user, there are also instructions on how to register as a new borrower.

Users may borrow up to four books for four weeks.

Please note:

From the beginning of March 2018 the hours the library is open to the public will be restricted to lunchtimes (12.30-1.30pm) Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. This is due to the need to make additional use of the library as meeting space within the life of the diocesan office. We are actively pursuing options to see how a library facility within the diocese can continue to be made available for study and reflection, and hope to have more positive news later in the year.

Robin Woods Library

Our "northern" diocesan library, the Robin Woods Library, is housed in New Road Methodist Church Centre Stourbridge.

Books may be borrowed when the library is open, from Monday to Friday, 10am - 12pm. Please ring before calling to check the library is staffed: 01384 376444 or email info@robinwoodslibrary.co.uk

There are comprehensive sections on prayer, and Franciscan, Celtic and Ignatian spirituality. There are also sections on music and ministry, and an RE and Teaching resources section.
