About me

I was born and brought up near Guildford in Surrey and had always lived and worked in that area and was therefore a bit surprised to find myself working in the West Midlands twelve years ago. Was it really that long ago?

My Christian faith became personal and very real when I was 31, before that I still believed in God and went to church but it was more of a communal thing. I believe in a church where everyone has a ministry and so when I felt that I was being called to express my faith more, having previously been involved as a volunteer in a mission based Christian organisation, I put myself forward for reader training and was licensed four years ago.

Work has involved being employed by local government and private practice before spending a number of years being self employed. On being told that the Diocese of Guildford was looking for a building surveyor and that I should apply, I did not argue. I was appointed and after five years there I applied for the post of Diocesan Surveyor at Worcester, after all it was only going to cost me the price of a stamp! Twelve years later and I am still here.

I am married to Kym. Yes, she is the real Kym Wild and we live in rural Worcestershire. My other interests, hobbies or passions include photography and I am a member of a local photographic society, steam railways, classic cars and music. I also volunteer at the Brockhampton Estate for the National Trust mainly taking photographs for them.
