The Cathedral will be marking the National Day of Reflection on 23 March with a short online service of reflection, which will include the minute’s silence at midday.
Tuesday 23 March marks one year since the first UK lockdown and the National Day of Reflection has been organised by the charity, Marie Curie, to acknowledge the grief and loss that many people have suffered since that time. The Cathedral’s online service will include local nurse and Cathedral congregation member, Rachael Ienzi alongside Bishop John and Canon Stephen Edwards.
Bishop John said: “The National Day of Reflection provides an opportunity for us all to reflect on the past year and the many losses we’ve all suffered as a result. Many people have been unable to grieve properly for their loved ones who have died and it is important that we acknowledge how difficult this has been. Do join us in prayer and silence around midday and during the day, take both a minute to reflect as well as a moment to connect with anyone who is finding life particularly hard at the moment.”
The service will be live streamed on Worcester Cathedral’s Facebook page and will include prayers and reflection as well as the minute’s silence at midday.
Join the service from 11.55am on Tuesday 25 March.
