The Wyre Forest West Churches – part of the Muddy Boots Mission Area – have well and truly celebrated Palm Sunday this year, with Erasmus the donkey keeping especially busy!
Associate Priest, Julia Quinn reports:
"Last Tuesday, our Little Fishes toddler group learned all about King Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. The children discovered the meaning of Hosanna, sang an action song about Jesus riding a donkey, and made their own delightful donkey crafts – including one extra to bring along to church on Sunday.
"Our Easter Activity Morning was full of colour and creativity, with Easter nest cakes, marbled eggs, and the making of a Holy Week wreath. We also revisited the Palm Sunday story and even learned to play our Palm Sunday song on the handbells.
"On Palm Sunday itself, we gathered for a joyful joint service. As we waved our palms, Jesus and Erasmus led us on our “Road to Jerusalem”, helping us reflect on how we can praise and serve our servant King this Holy Week. The children’s beautiful donkey and Holy Week wreath held pride of place before the altar – a lovely reminder of our shared celebration and faith!"
