Two new Area Deans have been appointed with Phil Bradford becoming Area Dean for Worcester and Glenn Reading becoming Area Dean of Pershore and Evesham when Sarah Dangerfield steps down at the end of the month.
Phil is Rector in the Worcester City West Benefice as well as Co-Warden of Readers. He said:
“I will be building on the work of both Diane and Kalantha, with a focus on children and young people as well as reaching out across the generations. There is lots of change happening in the deanery with new housing and clergy moving on and I’ll be supporting the clergy pastorally as well as encouraging our lay ministers. There is lots of great collaboration already happening in our compact deanery and I’m hoping to develop this further.”
Glenn Reading is Rector of Church Lench w Rous Lench & Abbots Morton & Harvington. He said:
“Thank you to Sarah for being Area Dean over the past eight years, she has really forged a path. As someone who is relatively new to the deanery, I’ll be spending some time getting to know my clergy colleagues and their context and parishes. I am passionate about collaboration as we work together for something larger than our individual churches and I’ll be gathering people to share good practise and good news stories. I am also looking forward to supporting the diocesan team with vision and strategy as we work together to be Kingdom People.”
