We are sorry to share the news that John Fitzmaurice will be stepping down as our Diocesan Director of Ordinands (DDO) and leaving at the end of October.
Director of Mission and Ministry, Joseph Diwakar said:
"John has served as DDO for more than a decade and has made an extraordinary contribution to the life of our diocese. He is one of the longest-serving and most respected DDOs in the Church of England, and his ministry of vocational discernment has touched many lives. A significant proportion of the clergy serving across our diocese have been accompanied by John on their journey towards ordained ministry. We owe John an enormous debt of gratitude, and he will be very greatly missed."
In the meantime, our existing network of ADDOs will continue to support and accompany those exploring vocation, under Joseph's oversight, so do keep referrals coming in.
There will be an opportunity to mark and celebrate John’s ministry before he leaves. We will share more details about this in due course.
