Churches to Host Summer Holiday Clubs

Many churches across our diocese are planning to offer free or low-cost children’s holiday clubs to support families in their communities during the school summer holidays and introduce children who may not usually come to church to Christianity in a fun and creative way.

Children and Young People Lead, Sian Morgan, said:

“While many mainstream and secular groups stop for the long summer holidays, it’s wonderful that many of our churches with paid workers are offering anything from a one-off session to half a day for several days to provide fun activities in a safe space. These clubs will also help ensure children can connect with God and the broad themes of Christianity through games, songs and creative play, building memories of church as a joyful place to be.”

Churches that are offering holiday clubs this summer include:

  • St Stephen’s Church Redditch, 9am-4pm on Wednesday 12 August. Holiday Club for children aged 5-11.
  • St John’s Church Halesowen, 10.30 – 1pm on Monday 27 July and Tuesday 18 August.  A free stay and play for families.
  • St Martin’s Church Worcester, 10am-1pm, Tuesday and Wednesday on  21, 22, 28,29 July and 4,5,11,12 August. Families Board Games Café and Stay and Play.
