Morogoro open evening5 Jun 2018 By Doug Chaplin
Come and find our more about our link with the Diocese of Morogoro on 4 July.
“Your friendship is very important to us.”
That’s how Bishop Godfrey Sehaba summed up the diocesan link between his diocese of Morogoro, and ours. The Morogoro Partnership Group are hosting an open evening on Wednesday 4 July, at 7.30pm in the Great Hall of the Old Palace, for people to learn more about that friendship link.
The group is currently planning a visit to Morogoro with Bishop Graham, for 18 – 30 March, 2019, to support and help develop parish partnerships. Claire Lording, the vicar of Pershore, will be speaking about the Abbey’s new partnership, having just returned from a June visit to start establishing a new friendship link. John Green, the chair of the group, will share some basic travel information about making a visit. And there’ll be some general information about, and pictures of, the life of the church in Morogoro, including Berega Hospital.
Doug Chaplin, Diocesan Mission Development Officer said:
“Every month we include a prayer request from Morogoro in our diocesan prayer diary. I warmly invite people across the whole diocese to come along to this evening to learn more about the places we pray for, and I hope, even, to think about joining in next year’s visit to learn even more.”
