Andy Green has been appointed as Lead Chaplain for Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust
Licensed Lay Minister from Evesham, Andy Green, has been appointed Lead Chaplain/Pastoral Support for Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, responsible for all in-patient care across the Trust area including Adult Mental Health.
Andy has been NHS Healthcare Chaplain to Evesham Community Hospital for nearly four years working initially in a volunteer capacity. In 2015 he was appointed in a professional capacity as NHS Healthcare Chaplain to Evesham and Pershore Community Hospitals. He will now work across all hospitals in the county.
"It is a tremendous privilege to be entrusted with this very special role and further my ministry in this way. My chaplaincy now extends across the whole Trust area and includes Princess of Wales Hospital, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster(Wyre Forest), Timberdine Commuity Unit, Worcester, Tenbury Wells Community Hospital and Pershore and Evesham Community Hospitals. There are also Mental Health Units located across the Trust Area.
I will be leading a Chaplaincy Team made up of caring, loyal, volunteers and I am looking to recruit others who feel called to chaplaincy to join the team. Support extends to relatives, carers and staff members and is provided to all faiths and none. Our volunteer team is multi-faith, ecumenical and made up of ordained and lay personnel. Never could I have imagined four years ago when I answered God's Call to explore chaplaincy that it would lead to this. The role can be demanding and challenging but at the same time rewarding and fulfilling and I relish this wonderful opportunity to further my ministry at hospitals across the Diocese."
Andy will head up the Chaplaincy team for Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust who work alongside a similar team for the Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust.
