Two members of All Saints', Malvern reach 10027 Apr 2017 By Sam Setchell
Two members of All Saints in Malvern have recently turned 100!
All Saints' Church in Malvern has just had their second centurion celebrate their 100th birthday. Both church members still come to the 10:30am services and they are both still are active and service in the church in different ways.
Megan (101) still puts together the intercessions rota and leads a monthly ‘prayer group/Bible study’.
Frank (just 100) has just retired from helping out at the Foodbank and washing up at the Littleton well, but still comes and helps at the church's toddler group every Thursday and walks up the steep slope each Sunday to church from his house!
Frank's voluntary work was recently featured on Midlands Today - you can watch the video on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/midlandstoday/videos/10155153355044761/
The Revd Dave Bruce says: "Both Megan and Frank are great characters and it's not bad to have two centurians out of an electoral role of 70. I am now telling people we don’t just offer eternal life but also seem to offer long life too! At our APCM we had discussions with everyone about new potential service patterns. It was great to see 9 year olds and 101 year olds sitting round discussing it together. Megan has since sent me a letter with her thoughts on it all and is so supportive of change!"
