The Bishop of Worcester has now launched an appeal for the Diocese of Peru, as they seek to provide relief and emergency aid to devastated local communities. Writing to all the churches in the diocese, Bishop John says: “A number of people around the diocese have been asking if we can do something to help. I am very pleased our partner diocese has developed a clear action plan to offer practical help on the ground, and have asked for our support, so that we know any gifts we send will be put to good and practical use in helping the church serve the needs of those who have been so badly affected.

“As we prepare to celebrate God’s generous gift of his Son, crucified and risen, for us and the whole world, I appeal to your generosity to help the church in Peru bring the hope of new life in Christ’s name to those communities which have experienced death and destruction.”

If you or your parish want to make a donation, this is how to do it.

This appeal will close at the end of April, so that we can send the money out while there is still an urgent need for it.
