With the Revd Ian Cowley

For licensed clergy in the Diocese of Worcester.

Most contemporary jobs in ministry entail considerable and sustained stresses, pressures and demands. Ian Cowley will offer wisdom and help us reflect on how, even in such a context, we can prioritise a relationship of deepening love with God. In so doing we grow as contemplative ministers: people called first of all to God and to his heart of love, so that the world may also know God and his love for all that he has made.

One participant in a similar event in another diocese said of it: “I found this exploration of contemplative ministry to be a significant day in my own life and ministry: I commend this opportunity to anyone wishing to sustain and deepen their own spiritual life and ministry”.

The day will be led by The Revd Ian Cowley, an Anglican priest who has served in parish ministry in South Africa, Sheffield, Cambridge and Peterborough. From 2008 to 2016 Ian was Co-ordinator of Spirituality and Vocations in the Diocese of Salisbury. He is author of four books on spirituality, discipleship and the local church. He has recently retired from full-time ministry and continues to write and teach. The day itself will be a mixture of teaching input and time for reflection.
