From the 18th April 2021 the churches in the Bredon Hill Group will start to reopen for public worship after the third national lockdown. This will commence with two services each Sunday across the Hill but over time as the Government's Roadmap continues, it is hoped that more services will be offered each week. Details of our services can be found on the Services and Events page.

St James' is open for private prayer every Sunday between 10am and 11am. Please contact one of the churchwardens if you wish the church to be opened for private prayer outside of these times.

The parish of Defford cum Besford is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Worcester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA.
