Relay to COP26

This November, world leaders are meeting in Glasgow for important climate negotiations. We believe it’s time to make decisions which protect people not bank balances, to decide that no country will go into debt tackling climate change. It’s a decade-defining opportunity to make a stand.

Join the UK churches' Relay to COP26 organised by the Young Christian Climate Network.

The Route

As you can see on the map below, the route starts in Cornwall and heads to Glasgow via London.

The main route doesn’t pass through our area but we are invited to plan a tributary with our friends in Gloucester Diocese, taking over from their route in Upton on 17 August and then joining the main route as the walkers reach Birmingham on 23 August.

Join us to walk for one or more of the three dates of our ‘tributary’ route that connects with the Young Christian Climate Network’s relay to COP26. The length of walk varies a little from day to day, with the Thursday and Friday routes between 8-10 miles and the Saturday walk on the Clent Hills offering shorter walks of 2-4 miles.

Each day will start and end with prayer. In between, enjoy our lovely countryside and the company of others who have a concern for the environment.

Walkers are welcome of all ages, including family groups, individuals, and groups from communities and churches – just use your common sense in terms of ability to walk the length of the route, and wear sturdy footwear.

Sign up to take part in one or more days, using this form.
