Children's Work

There is a small library of books relating to children's work, held in the education department at the Old Palace, Deansway, Worcester. These books are available for loan during normal office hours. We have books on, amongst other subjects: drama, materials for children's work, seasonal and holiday club ideas, stories, prayers, confirmation preparation and all-age worship.
(Please contact the Department for Chldren, Youth and Education on 01905 732825 if you would like to visit the library.)

At The Old Palace we also house a range of resources for use with children, which are available for loan on payment of a moderate hire charge plus a deposit. There is a parachute, tug of war rope, uni-hoc set, enamelling kiln, badge maker, to name but a few. Many of the resources come complete with an ideas sheet on how to use them with your group. Again a full catalogue with price list is available so if you are planning a holiday club or even if you just want something a little different to try in your children's session, why not get in touch?

GODLY PLAY...

Is a brilliant new way of introducing children to Bible stories and encouraging them to relate them to themselves by interacting with the materials. Children are encouraged to explore the relevance and meaning of different faith stories in a way which develops spirituality and a sense of wonder. For those of you who have come into contact with the exciting new idea of Godly Play, We have developed a range of resources available for parishes to borrow relating to this. There will be a small charge for borrowing the story boxes and trays, please contact us for further details (see below). A complete list of the stories available can be requested.

There is a fully equipped Godly Play classroom at St Mary's First School, Kidderminster. The room is available for training and courses are offered there on a regular basis. A visit to the room can be arranged by contacting us.

For details of a range of new resources and ideas look at the ' news and events in children's work ' page.
