The Diocese of Worcester is committed to the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Children Policy ‘Protecting All God’s Children’ (2004) and the relevant statutory legislation and guidance for the welfare of children and young people. We offer approved training in the Safeguarding of children and procedures and good practice to all clergy and lay people, paid and unpaid, who work with children and young people in the Diocese.

Diocesan Synod

The new smoke free law comes into effect from 1 July 2007 and will apply to places of worship, in common with other public buildings. A guidance note has been prepared following discussion between the Department of Health Smokefree Team and the Church of England, and which sets out what the regulations mean for cathedrals, churches and church halls.
