In 2006, Professor Taylor conducted a review of the diocese. As part of this review he highlighted six priorities for the Diocese. As a diocese, we feel that all churches should be working towards these if they consider themselves to be healthy:
1) Worship God
2) Rid the world of poverty
3) Share the gospel
4) Build inclusive communities
5) Help people to faith
6) Care for the earth
This priorities forms the basis of much of the work carried out across the diocese and will be explored further as part of the Diocesan Assembly 2008.

As a diocese we have also adopted the Church of England's Five Marks of Mission. These are:
|
1) Proclaim the good news of the kingdom
2) Question and seek to transform unjust structures of society
3) Respond to human need by loving service
4) Sustain the integrity of creation and renew the face of the earth
5) Teach, baptise and nurture new believers
