Ghosts and haunting

Afraid? - Demons - Abuse - Ghosts - Poltergeists - Curses
Flip! - Prayers - Links - Feedback

In spite of much research, little is understood about ghosts. Beware of those who think they have answers. Beware of those who are more curious than they are concerned to relieve you of the problem. Some premises may trade on media attention given to haunting, but if you want to sell your house you will do well to avoid publicity.

Ghosts may cause fear but they do not cause harm.

Much paranormal activity arises from psychic disturbance among the living. Poltergeist effects are often confused with ghosts. Haunting and poltergeist activity are sometimes present at the same time. Ghosts belong to a place, while the poltergeist may follow the owner to another property. There are also crisis apparitions that link to a person. Those who have a psychic aspect to their nature are more sensitive to such phenomena. Occult practice such as the use of ouija may create similar mischief to poltergeist activity, though more unpleasant.

A true haunting may arise from the innocent experience of someone who died long ago. It may be caused by a traumatic event or be associated with guilt. Christian ministry of forgiveness and reconciliation, or of commending the dead to rest in peace with God should be sought. If this is not effective it may indicate a cause other than ghosts. Your Church of England Parish Priest is available to help you get appropriate support and advice.
