Chaplaincy - Deliverance

Afraid? Understand your experience

Afraid? - Demons - Abuse - Ghosts - Poltergeists - Curses
Flip! - Prayers - Links - Feedback

When you are frightened you feel very vulnerable. You are entitled to have your experience taken seriously. Interpreting your experience is the key to understanding it and to regaining control of your life. The popular imagination is often misinformed by television drama over haunting and poltergeists , demons and possession, fortune telling and curses . It could be that there is a natural explanation for what you feel is paranormal or supernatural. Discerning the best interpretation is not easy and may take time.

Some people are horrified at being thought religious nutters and so steer clear of priests and ministers. Others are equally horrified at being diagnosed with a mental illness and strongly resist being referred for psychiatric help. You don't have to be religious or mentally ill to benefit from both spiritual guidance and psychiatry. Deliverance ministry sometimes needs a both/and approach.

Beware of those who ask for money or who might wish to recruit you into a religious group or fellowship. Deliverance ministry is based on the triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ over all that is evil and requires some level of Christian belief to be effective, but this is different from committing yourself as a member of a Church. Any decision to join a Christian fellowship should be made freely, after you have recovered from what has frightened you and are at peace.
