Do you feel crippled inside by what you have experienced as a prediction of portending disaster or a curse? Such feelings can take over your life leaving you spiritually disabled. It is important to seek spiritual guidance, but the following thoughts may provide first aid.

Curses and predictions only have an effect because something persuades you to believe in them. They are of human origin from someone who maliciously seeks to control your life. Without your consent they can have no effect. Christians do not believe that evil has a power equal to the goodness of God.

If you believe in their effect can you not also believe in the power of a Blessing? Blessings come from God who has endorsed the saving grace of Jesus Christ as having overcome evil and always ready to forgive. A Blessing will overcome a curse and overcome a malicious prediction. Priests are ordained to pronounce Blessings; why not seek one out?

If you have a hymn book look up ‘I bind unto myself today...' St Patrick's Breastplate .
