I have been working in education for almost forty years, training initially in Physical Education and specialising in Modern Educational Dance. I taught in Cambridge, Welwyn Garden City and at The City of Worcester Grammar School for Girls.
Following a year’s secondment to the University of Birmingham, I moved into developing Student Services at the then newly formed Worcester Sixth Form College. This involved careers education, higher education advice and guidance, counselling, chaplaincy and worship, voluntary work, health and sexual health advice.
A further part- time degree at the University of Warwick in The Practice of Community Education enabled me to also tutor adults at the College on Access, Foundation or General Education Courses.
I retired from Worcester Sixth Form College in August 2006 and became licensed as a Reader in June 2007.I am very much enjoying learning to serve in the benefice of Kempsey and Severn Stoke.
Having been a member and chair of the Tertiary Education Committee of the DBE in the past I am very much looking forward to working with all involved in the newly formed Education Committee.
