Visit 'St. Wulfstan's Church' at the Three Counties Show
(12/06/2012)
You can see some busking vicars, have a go at bell-ringing or join in with some rousing hymns at this year’s Three Counties Show.
Or perhaps you'd rather enjoy a cup of tea and slice of home made cake while you flick through a book, or simply find a quiet corner in which to pray.
All of these things are possible in or near the Church Tent, which this year has been named ‘St. Wulfstan's Church' in honour of Worcester's most famous Bishop.
Lots of activities
Alongside the refreshments in the tent there will be information about heritage trails around churches across the three counties as well as books on faith and Christianity.
If you have something that you'd like us to pray for, you can fill in a card at the tent and prayers will be said by a member of Mucknell Abbey or Glasshampton Monastry.
We have also teamed up with the nearby BBC stage where some of our more musically talented vicars and some of our Church Schools will be entertaining people and at 2.30pm over the weekend we'll be hosting ‘beer and hymns': Grab a pint and come and sing some classic hymns, led by the Bishop of Worcester on the Sunday.
The Archdeacon of Worcester, Roger Morris, said: "Like in every town and village, the church is at the heart of the Three Counties Show on the village green. We will be there throughout the three days with activities traditional to churches and others that you might not necessarily expect!
Come and see us and try your hand at a bit of bell-ringing or singing and let us show you what the Church is doing in communities across the Three Counties."
During the Show, we will also be launching our ‘Tractor to Tunguli' project in conjunction with Warwickshire College. We hope to raise funds to send a tractor to Tunguli in Tanzania so that land there can be cultivated and the proceeds used to fund the local medical centre.
The Church Tent or ‘St. Wulfstan's Church' can be found on the corner of Avenue F and Row 7 at the Three Counties Show.
