Outstanding inspection for St. Bartholomew's School
(13/01/2012)
St. Bartholomew’s Church of England Primary has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in a recent National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS) report.

SIAS looks at the Christian character of the School, what makes it distinctive and different, as well as looking at how the school is meeting all the needs of its pupils (emotionally as well as educationally) and the effectiveness of the leadership and management.
St. Bartholomew's SIAS report said: "This happy and successful school is underpinned by tangible and clearly communicated Christian values of respect, love and forgiveness.
Pupils are cared for extremely well; all staff pull together and ‘go the extra mile' for the children and their families. Pupils' personal development is nurtured very well and the school strives diligently to raise pupils' levels of achievement."
The report also highlighted the strong and visionary leadership and the excellent provision for all pupils.
Headteacher, Sue Helps said: "I see this report as a real turning point for the school. We've been through some difficult times, but we've come through them and are now really making a difference to our pupils through our Christian ethos.
It's great that the report picked up on the fact that our children are well behaved and really care for each other as well as the commitment of our brilliant and hardworking staff."
Diocesan Director of Education, Ann Mundy, said: "SIAS is a national inspection framework and although it has a slightly different focus to Ofsted, it is still regarded with the same level of credibility. It is very a very thorough inspection into the inner life of the school and it is no mean feat for a school to achieve an outstanding grading.
The team at St. Bartholomew's have done a great job and deserve to be congratulated on their achievements."
