Rocking the Cathedral
PR 37
(17/09/2010)
Bands playing include Kingswinford-based Formal Affair, alongside nationally renowned bands such as Bosh and Superhero. As well as rocking out to the music, young people will also be able to learn circus skills, express themselves on the interactive graffiti wall or take some time out in the quiet zone in the crypt. Adults accompanying them will not be forgotten - there will be an adult crèche with newspapers and a chance to practice their golf!
The event is being organised by the Diocesan Youth Council. Chair Jon Pedley said: "This is our second Rock the Cathedral event and this one should be even bigger and better! This year we will also be having a ‘shop window' where young people can come and ask any questions about faith that they might have. Members of the Youth Council and the Archdeacon of Worcester will then try to answer them."
The event will also welcome the Bishop of Morogoro following the setting up of a formal link with the diocese in Tanzania.
In preparation for the event, youth groups across the diocese have been putting together a video about themselves. These videos will be played during the changeovers between the bands and the best entry will win a video camera for their youth group.
