Many of our churches organise summer holiday clubs and activities to help parents during the school summer holiday. St Mary’s, Kempsey will again be running a week-long holiday club in the local school.  The Revd Mark Badger said:

"We are always oversubscribed and families book early as the club offers not only lots of for the children, but also much needed respite for the parents. We make a point of offering the club free of charge (although many parents make a donation) as we are very aware that many families struggle with child care options and costs over the long summer holidays.

"We are also very aware what a ‘lifeline’ toddler groups can be for those caring for young children and so this year we have decided to run our weekly toddler groups throughout the holiday. As we have a great deal of new housing in the area and lots of young families moving in we will also be running week long programme of Summer Play Days with organised activities and a free picnic. This will take place in the local park and is an opportunity to provide a ministry of welcome and generosity as part of our commitment to do all we can to make the church ‘the hospitable heart’ of our community."
