There will be a special service of remembrance at Wyre Forest Crematorium on the eve of Mothering Sunday for those who might find the day difficult.

Organised by the Revd Alex Vaccaro, Associate Priest with the Kidderminster Ismere group of parishes, Mothers’ Day Memories will take place at 3pm on Saturday 25 March. There will be a service of remembrance with an opportunity for prayer, reflection and thanksgiving, and this will be followed by refreshments in the form of afternoon tea.

“Although Mothering Sunday is a time for celebration, it can also be a poignant and sad time for those remembering lost loved ones, whether mothers or children, and for those who were unable to be mothers themselves. I hope the service will be an opportunity to gather together to reflect and it’s open to all who would value a way to mark this special time. I’m very grateful to Wyre Forest Crematorium for their support and their willingness to try this new service.

The service will give a chance to acknowledge loss, to recall good memories and perhaps to pray for the healing of relationships that were less than perfect. Everyone is very welcome to come along, if you’re planning to do so, please confirm attendance by phoning 01562 740850.
