Clergy try out the Dudley Wheel!29 Mar 2016 By Sam Setchell
Local Church of England clergy, led by the Bishop of Dudley, showed their support for the DY Eye Wheel today as they headed to Dudley town centre to give it a go!
The group of vicars from Dudley and beyond, along with Bishop Graham Usher, rode the wheel in their cassocks and were hoping to spot all the churches in the Borough (as well as Dudley’s other famous landmarks) from the very top!
Bishop Graham said: ““I wasn’t impressed when I heard that the Dudley wheel was being described as the ‘worst tourist attraction in England’ and I was keen to try it out for myself! It’s great that a group of local clergy have gathered to support me as I brave the dizzy heights and experience the great views, which include the castle, zoo and Top Church. Easter is a joyful time in the Christian faith and riding the wheel together is a great way to celebrate this season, as well as the creative life of Dudley!”
