A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Ian Scott will take place at St Peter-de-Witton Parish Church, St Peter's Church Lane/Tagwell Road, Droitwich, Worcestershire, WR9 7AN on Monday 10th August at 12.15am. The service will be conducted by the Revd Sheila Banyard, Rector of Droitwich. The Bishop of Worcester, Dr John Inge, will be attending and will give the blessing. Mr Scott was killed in a road accident on July 18th. His widow, Sue, was very badly injured and will be released for the service from hospital, where she is still undergoing treatment. The driver of the other car was arrested and is currently on police bail while enquiries continue. Ian Scott was the much respected Chaplain at Evesham Community Hospital and had previously worked in the same role in Kidderminster, Redditch and Worcester. With his wife, he was also very involved with the local branch of MIND, the mental health Charity. The service is expected to attract a large number of people and press are welcome to attend outside the church. The Bishop of Worcester, John Inge, will be available for press interviews from 11.15am. The Revd Clive Parr, The Bishop of Worcester's Adviser for Hospital Ministry, who is now Acting Chaplain at Evesham Hospital, will also be available. The family will not be available but the Bishop of Worcester will read a statement from them. (The couple have two adult children, Jason Wathers and Zoe Scott.)
