This is the engagement diary of the Bishop of Dudley, the Rt Revd David Walker, for October 2007. Monday 1st to Wednesday 3rd in London Bishop David will attend a meeting of the House of Bishops. Thursday 4th in Kidderminster Bishop David will attend the official opening of St. Catherine’s Primary School. Monday 8th in Worcester Bishop David will speak on Post-Christendom Politics at the church of St. Martin and St. Peter, London Road, Worcester. Tuesday 9th in Dudley 7pm – Bishop David will attend an awards ceremony at the Dudley Council for Voluntary Services. Friday 12th in Lindridge The Bishop will take part in the community harvest celebrations in Lindridge, with activities taking place at St. Lawrence’s Church of England Primary in the morning, followed by a shared lunch and a harvest festival at the church in the afternoon. Saturday 13th in Worcester Bishop David will lead the worship at a day to help rural churches explore opportunities for reaching out to local children and their families. The day will be based around the book ‘Rural Children, Rural Church’, which has been written by the Children’s Missioner in the Diocese of Peterborough. Sunday 14th in Kidderminster 10.30am – Bishop David will confirm candidates from the Kidderminster West Team Ministry. 6.30pm – Bishop David will preach at a service of celebration for the new Wolverley Church of England High School at the church of St. John the Baptist in Wolverley. Tuesday 16th in Harvington Bishop David will license the Revd Fran Battin as Associate Priest at St. James’ Church, Harvington. Thursday 18th in Dudley Bishop David will attend a meeting of the Dudley Standards Committee. Saturday 20th in Kidderminster Bishop David will dedicate a restored war memorial at St. Mary’s Church, Kidderminster. Wednesday 31st Bishop David will attend a meeting of the National Housing Federation’s West Midlands Regional Committee. ENDS. The Diocese of Worcester is one of 44 dioceses in the Church of England.
