Angie Duckworth, curate at the churches of Holy Trinity and St. James, Malvern was ordained as a priest last Sunday after completing her first year of training. The service took place at Holy Trinity Church and is the next step on her Christian journey, enabling Angie to preside at Holy Communion. The Bishop of Dudley, David Walker conducted the ordination service. He said: “This is a wonderful, joyful day. The church recognises that God has called Angela to take up priestly ministry. In this service her friends and family, her parish here in Malvern and the Diocese of Worcester come together. We celebrate this new step on her journey, we pledge our support and prayers and we reflect on our own responses to God’s call.” Following her ordination, Angie will celebrate her first Holy Communion at Holy Trinity Church on Sunday 14 December. She will continue to serve her curacy in Malvern. Before Angie became a Curate, she trained for ordination at Ripon College, Cuddesdon, and served as a Reader in St Alban’s Diocese. She was also a Registered Nurse and Midwife. Angie’s interests are in Spirituality and Spiritual Direction. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and friends, walking, on silent retreats, needlework and making traditional, jointed Teddy Bears. ENDS
