At today’s funeral we commend Ian Scott to God, whom he served so faithfully as a priest. Ian was deeply committed to revealing the reality of Jesus’ love through his care and commitment to those he served. He was a quiet, thoughtful and holy man who, wherever he went, carried God’s healing presence in a way that touched the lives of many. His ministry as a priest over the years, most recently as a hospital chaplain at Evesham was hugely appreciated. It has become very clear since his tragic death how much he was loved and respected. We pray too for God’s healing for Ian’s widow, Sue, still suffering terribly from injuries sustained in the crash. We pray that Sue and all the family may be surrounded and upheld by God’s love and that the support of so many friends will be some comfort to them in their loss. Ends.
