CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL THIS SUNDAY
A special day for children entitled Saints in the Summer has been organised by the diocese and takes place this Sunday 22 May from 10am to 4pm.
The day is designed for children, their families and parish groups and will be led by Andy and Catherine Kennedy who have previously worked at Spring Harvest. The event will take place at Top Barn Farm in Holt, Nr Worcester, where there is plenty of space to run around and play as well as a huge barn to shelter in if it rains.
The day will include activities and workshops for everyone on the theme of the summer saints and the day is primarily for the under 11s although there is no upper age limit and there will be activities to include all ages, including adults.
A similar diocesan event last year brought together 300 adults and children and take up this year has been equally popular.
Speaking about the forthcoming event Lesley Towey, the Diocesan Children’s Officer, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for children to come together and join the hundreds of other children in the diocese to celebrate the Christian story told through the lives of the saints.”
