Archbishop of Canterbury's visit
7 - 9 October 2016
There will be an opportunity to invite your friends to experience 'Church' in a different way when Archbishop Justin visits the Diocese from 7 – 9 October. Events have been planned in Worcester, Dudley and elsewhere in the Diocese focussed around our Kingdom People vision and also the Archbishop’s priorities of reconciliation, prayer and evangelism.
There are three public events, which we hope as many people as possible will support.

Archbishop Justin in conversation with BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine
Friday 7 October, 7pm Worcester Arena WR2 5JN (Map)
An opportunity to come and listen to the Archbishop talk about his life and faith ‘in conversation’ with the BBC journalist, Jeremy Vine. Audience members will have the chance to ask questions and there will be a performance from a choir put together from local church schools. Tickets: £5 available from Ticketline or on 0844 888 9991.
Please consider inviting your non-churchgoing friends to this event!
Jeremy Vine is presenter, broadcaster and journalist. He is best known as the host of his own BBC Radio 2 programme which presents news, views, interviews with live guests and popular music. He is known for his direct interview style, and exclusive reporting from war-torn areas throughout Africa.
Craft, stories and refreshments for families
Saturday 8 October, 1.30pm St Stephen’s Church, Redditch B97 4DY (Map)
Archbishop Justin will join this event for families, which will be based around the story of Jesus walking on water (Matthew 14: 22-36).
Bring the children to have a go at the crafts, play on the bouncy castle, listen to the story told by the Archbishop, and enjoy tea and cake together.
Prayer walk and Songs of Praise event
Sunday 9 October, 2.30pm Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Dudley DY5 1QX (Map)
Archbishop Justin will arrive at Merry Hill shopping centre at the entrance by Argos and walk through the mall, offering to pray for those visiting. We hope that lots of people from parishes will then join us for a short ‘songs of praise’ type event in the Atrium outside Marks and Spencer, where there will be prayers, songs and a short reflection from the Archbishop.
Come along and let’s show that the Christian community is flourishing in Dudley and the surrounding areas!
There are a number of other events happening during Archbishop Justin's visit which are by invitation only and are not open to the public. If you would like to enquire about being invited to one of these events, please email Sam Setchell.
