The Old Palace, Worcester
A dream wedding reception venue, right in the heart of Worcester city.....

The Old Palace has been a centre of hospitality for over 1,000 years. Bishops and Deans have been entertained here for hundreds of years and now the beautiful building is also available for your wedding reception.
The building, which dates from the 11th century, is one of the city's best kept secrets and is a dream wedding reception venue. The magnificent rooms are full of character and history. The fabulous river frontage gardens are an ideal setting for a champagne reception and the perfect wedding photos; all yours exclusively for the day. The Old Palace is just off Worcester High Street, making it an easy walk back to hotels, or public transport.
The venue has an elegant entrance hall with a sweeping staircase for reception drinks as well as the ‘Abbot's Kitchen' which can be used as a separate reception or dancing area.
The Great Hall can seat up to 80 people for dinner, or cater for up to 150 for a buffet, using an adjoining room.
The gorgeous gardens are picturesque, sweeping down to the River Severn with the magnificent Cathedral as backdrop. Some parking is available at the front of the building.
Your Wedding Reception....
When you arrive at the Old Palace after your wedding ceremony it is time to relax. Whether you choose to arrive by horse and cart or limousine, we will be ready with a drink for you and all your guests and to guide them either into the beautiful gardens or the Abbot's Kitchen where the drinks reception will be held.
You may then chose to have canapés, while photos are taken in the glorious gardens or magnificent indoors. Once all those precious photos are taken, guests will then be led into the Great Hall, which has magnificent views over the River Severn and Malvern Hills, for the wedding breakfast or speeches. Guests are seated at round tables with white linen and we invite your florist to add the finishing touch in flowers. We can arrange to seat the bridal party at a rectangular top table if required. The evening is for dancing and celebration; the Great Hall has a stone floor which makes it ideal for dancing. You may wish to include a band or disco in your celebrations, which you are very welcome to do. The Old Palace is licensed, by arrangement until 11.30pm for dancing and drinking, after which time it is a gentle stroll back to the numerous hotels on the doorstep. Public transport and a taxi service are also easily found in Worcester City Centre.
